Its cool! It all started a year back. I was sure that i wanted to do some business,
that too into the service sector. I was trying to figure out some gap in the market.
Since i have experience of working in the
life insurance industry for more than 5 years, so i wanted to do something
in this sector only.
One fine day, i decided that i will leave my job and become a life insurance advisor. I thought that i
have done business of more than 4 crore premium collection and sold more than 1000
policies, so why don't i work on my own as that will fetch a very good amount of
incentive and more significantly i will have sufficient time to devote for
my business plan.I was clear that i want to become advisor of
ICICI
Prudential Life Insurance. But, i was confused about whom should i approach.
I wanted my manager to be flexible and someone who will be on the same. Since
i have worked in tha bancaassurance channel in Navsari and Surat, i knew nobody in the agency or tide channel
of ICICI Prudential in Ahmedabad. So i had to finally depend on one of my friend from
the insurance
sector who sent one Agency Manager to my home and i was obliged to select him. I
had no other option. So i selcted him as my manager.
That was the moment when the idea struck me that if i was able to visit some
website where profiles of different managers were displayed i could have
selected one of my choice. From that time i started looking for such website on
the net. I searched for such website on net for almost 4 months, surfing 4-5
hours everyday. But i found no such website anywhere in the world.I decided to
develope a website
which will display profile of managers and advisor from the life insurance sector. I created www.alivewire.in
with the help of yahoo service and started working
on this concept from home, along with my job.
I also started discussing about this concept with my collegues. Vinay Lade who
is my partner was interested in this concept and he was the main person with whom
i was sharing my ideas and details . I daily used to say something or the other
about this idea to my wife. 3-4 months passed like this. Nothing happened, as this
was a new concept and starting this business with the job was impossible.
My wife Payal Shah, was getting bored with my everyday routine discussion. She cajoled me to
take a plunge. Me and Vinay finally left our job and took this biggest risk of our
life. We are convinced that we will surely bring a revolution in the insurance industry.
